Northern Dancer, a bay thoroughbred racehorse dubbed "one of the most influential sires in Thoroughbred history" by the US National Thoroughbred Racing Association, was the most successful sire of the twentieth century, fathering 146 stakes winners.

Northern Dancer features often in the thoroughbred bloodlines of Angrove Stud's horses. He is Angrove Ricco's and Angrove Dancing Girl's Great Grandsire. This means that our homozygous coloured progeny, Angrove Spotted Dick, also inherits Northern Dancer's thoroughbred bloodlines from his sire and dam.
